Cultivating Inclusivity and Community to Support Students
Located in the heart of campus, this addition supports Western’s JEDI goals by expanding space for the ESC, SAIRC, and programs of the Multicultural Services.

These groups work together build a sense of community and cultivate leadership. The project entailed new construction of an addition and renovations to existing buildings to reconfigure the bookstore and Viking Union and develop a new space for multicultural service programs. Centrally located on campus, the site is along the main access for transit and connected to the Viking Union which remained operational throughout construction. The project unified three separate buildings, featuring study and social areas, a multi-purpose room, dance studio, and kitchen.
