Port of Seattle - SEA North Main Terminal Redevelopment
Completed within a 24/7/365 active airport, the North Main Terminal Redevelopment (also known as SEA Gateway) is a 237,000 SF Progressive Design-Build renovation project that expanded Security Checkpoint 5 to improve passenger processing and renovated the existing promenade with new interior finishes, lighting and wayfinding. To support the redevelopment, the existing 1949 structure was seismically retrofitted including upgraded MEP/T/S/FP systems. The project also adds new passenger check-in and office components and improves baggage handling capabilities.
Existing electrical installations were documented and planned around to execute work without disruption. Scope included improving Electrical One-Line systems, installing code-compliant NEC Article 700, 701, and 702 emergency distribution systems, replacing outdated panels, updating electrical standards, new Smoke Control and updates to fire alarm, tele/data infrastructure, access control, CCTV, TWPS, digital displays, FIDs, EVIDs, and art vitrines.
